The Wesley Center for Family and Neighborhood Development is a nonprofit, faith-based organization whose mission is to serve as a catalyst and resource for community initiatives and programs which seek to enhance the life conditions, life chances, and life choices of families and youth living in the Dove Springs neighborhood located in South East, Austin.
The center has six strategic initiatives that lie at the core of its work. They are capacity building, research and program innovation, leadership development, family strengthening, positive youth development, and civic engagement.
Since its inception, in 1992, the Wesley Center has sought to develop and enhance the capacities of individuals and families to make positive change in their lives and in the life of their community. Along with providing training, technical assistance and coaching to community based organizations, nonprofit service providers and churches, the center also offers a series of family strengthening programs, positive youth development programs and after school programs.
As a faith-based organization our work is inspired and sustained by our conviction that realizing justice, peace and applied loved in the communities in which we work is also realizing God's purposes for these communities.
